Spending $$$ like water...

Officially the renovation has begun on 23.8.08 saturday. The electrician Mr Ong has completed majority of the cable work in just one day! Really satisfied with his fast and reliable service, not forgetting his lower-than-market rate. Thanks to Ng's (hubby's pal) recommendation ;-D Meanwhile, our ID, Desmond brought us to Balestier Road to get the necessities.

First stop, Unique Zone, a wallcovering specialist. We put a firm on Goodrich Flamboyance II, BAZAAR. We thought the sample texture was the best among the rest... Next, we went to Asia Excel to bag those induction hob, kitchen sink/tap, central water heater, rainy shower head, glass shelf etc. Not a buy of impulse, they were bought after comparison of many prices. Though not the lowest for some items, we decided to go ahead as our ID could thus be more glad to help fix them up :-D

The last stop was a lighting shop. We did not get anything from it as the prices were way too high. Think we got to visit A Lighting at Geylang to get a better quote. Oh, did I forget to mention, we got a clear-black crystal chandelier and clear crystal lamp for dining and living areas from A Lighting. Pricing? It was out-of-this-world. Best buy ever!!

Another must-have, air con. We bought a Carrier system 2 & system 3 from All Best at IMM. Not the best model but definitely the most comforting to our pocket :-P First installation was scheduled on 27.8.08. Also, a L-sofa was confirmed at Red Apple, IMM. It was named, the Rotten Apple by many forum members for its poor after-sales and delivery. But that design was my favourite and at such affordable price. We decided to take the risk. To cut the risk, we paid only S$200 deposit (instead of required $900). Hubby said should the worst come true, we just change it to coffee table or something worth that deposit :-P

Another to mention, Wellmax offered the best rate for window grilles. Hubby said this maker measured the dimensions more professionally. He took measurement in every interval of half feet, not just length by width. This should cover any uneven size in a window. This could only be installed after painting is completed.

The next important item - carpentry. Still waiting for the offers...
