It was an usual Sunday for our family and hubby decided to visit our new place. Just to let our little ones got used to the environment. To our horror, our next-door neighbour had a padlock secured at their metal gate!!!!!! Meaning? The keys were ready for collection! Why were we not informed? Why, why, why...
You bet what I did on the very next morning :P I rang the officer-in-charge for an answer. Thinking she might pacify me with some lame excuses, I was very surprised when she confirmed that our keys could be collected on 12.08.2008.
That is the next coming Tuesday! YEAH!!
Informed hubby almost immediately and he was jumping with joy (or so I thought :P).
Next to worry, (gosh! women can never enjoy plain happiness, can we?) if my mum will be nagging as the collection falls in the month of the Hungry Ghosts Feastival.
Sigh... act ignorance is not going to work. So I rang up my mum to break this good (or bad) news??!! I'd almost let out a laugh when mum said it is ok to 'open door' during the black month. It is only important NOT to move-in officially as it may 'accidentally' invite unwelcomed guests :P She reminded me again on the stuffs to prepare for the 'open door' ritual.
The list goes with, rice, salt, 5 types of coloured beans, 5 types of fruits (must-have: pineapple), a fresh stalk of garlic and 2 fans. Other than these, we will be performing our prayers thus chanting beads and gongyo book will have to be in the To-bring list.
Oh yes! Got to get hubby to install some light bulbs so we could view the flat in the evenings too.
Think we will 'open door' as soon as the keys are collected. Since we have only 7 days to submit any damage or flaws in our new home, the sooner we check, the better. (I hope :P)
I will upload a video clip of our raw new home... So folks, stay tuned :D
